drinking and driving
2004-02-12

Yesterday morning a girl died. She was 18 years old and walking to work. A drunk driver hit her. I did not know her, just like I don't get the chance to know so many people around the world that die each day. She was a cousin of a friend.

Today was my last day
But no one knew
This day started like any other
But now,
I'll never get to see any of you
Someone was just 'having fun'
They throught they thought they were ok to drive
They wouldn't give up the keys

Now I see friends and family
Gathered around and crying
They are suffering, grieving, lost in sadness
And I can't help
All because the drunk only had to go down the road
