a bad day turned good
2004-05-15

we talked yesterday, we talked the whole lunch period. I should have been reading my novel study but instead we talked alone. Nothing we talked about was important- or so it may seem. It started out weird, he sat with me and Jaz at lunch, then she had to leave. So we sat in silence for a few minutes. "you never talk" I wasn't sure how to reply to that statement at first- but I knew it was the truth. "I don't have anything to say" that was only partially the truth. "you have lots to say online" he had a point. "I know, but none of it's important" he laughed and said "that's ok".

Then there was that awkward silence I forced myself to break. "I'm having a bad day today" - I don't know why I said it, I barely tell people when I'm having a bad day. "why?" and I told him all about it. Then he offered to let me hit him and I just laughed. He says he's going to teach me how to be mean- which would probably come in useful since I never stick up for myself. He always has this ability to make me laugh though- and to make me feel comfortable talking to him, which is very unusual.
